Change in policy! Of sorts. I don't use this blog to audition for a position as restaurant critic for any publication. And reading some reviews from other bloggers, I've become a little put off from long-winded, pretentious, critic-wanna-be writing. Though I'm not a wanna-be critic, my reviews have also tended to be too damn long. So, from now on, I'll keep things shorter.
A few years ago I was in possession of a restaurant guide, authored by Newsday's Peter M. Gianotti. The reviews were short, but full of information. The book has, unfortunately, since gone missing. I'm not going to follow his model precisely, but the book showed that it's possible to set out a descriptive, informative review in a short space.
