Happy Halloween

Some local non-food but Halloweeny info. Lake Ronkonkoma finished as the #1 most terrifying place on Travel Channel's Most Terrifying Places in America Top 13, which aired Friday night.

A pic of Lake Ronkonkoma taken early 2010:

I had no idea it was so terrifying. There are apparently different stories, but they are all basically that an Indian princess, Princess Ronkonkoma, fell in love with a white European settler. Her father forbade her from being with him, and she ended up drowning, intentionally or not.

There is supposedly a curse that each year a male will drown in the lake, though not everyone can agree what the reason is.

Note to self:  do not swim in Lake Ronkonkoma.

There is a brand new Restaurant on Long Island in Commack called Andrea's 25. They opened this past Wednesday and I went to the Grand Opening and let me tell you, I have never had Broccoli Rabe and Sausage Eggrolls and I couldn't stop eating them. They came with a side sauce they call an Italian Chimmichurri that was hot and sweet all at the same time. Then I had Sals Mac and Cheese that came with toasted buttery bread crumbs on top. To die for. And for dessert we had the Bread Pudding that was not too sweet but had the perfect crust with a maple sauce. To die for and any diet I had was completely out the window. Check it out.
