So let's see how the cat fight
between Scripps, which owns HGTV and the Food Network, and Cablevision plays out. Apparently Scripps is upping the license fees cable companies have to pay them to broadcast those channels.
Scripps is playing the card that customers will bitch to Cablevision to put those channels back on, or they will switch cable providers. I have no idea if that's happening or if Cablevision is losing customers. Or in many areas there may not be an alternative to Cablevision.
I don't really watch the Food Network a lot these days, so I barely noticed when it went off the air. It seems like every time you turn around there's a new show on, and it isn't very interesting.
